Power Business Line of Bechtel Infrastructure Global Business Unit is responding to this global challenge and growing its capability in the development and construction of combined cycle power projects globally. Bechtel is responding to the growth in the market by expanding our execution team to support the large pipeline of work internationally and specifically in the North America markets. Bechtel is actively executing projects and has a development pipeline for combined cycle projects around the world, with a geographical focus in North America. We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the technical development and delivery of major projects. In support of our plans to further develop and execute projects, the Project Engineer will participate in all stages of the project lifecycle, including proposal development, conceptual design, FEED, detailed design, and project execution. The Project Engineer will contribute to technical feasibility studies, value engineering, cost development and strategic planning for the project. Reports to the Project Engineering Manager and/or the Functional Manager of Engineering. Major Responsibilities - Highly skilled in GT, HRSG, STG and BOP design aspects and interfaces to support EPC execution. - Has full technical responsibility for planning, interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the engineering assignments and activities on the project in liaison with the India Office PEM. - Leading and integrating the Engineering Team, comprising diverse engineering fields (e.g., electrical, controls & instrumentation, process, mechanical, plant layout, etc.), for building a cohesive team and pursuing common objectives in bid or execution projects and reporting to Project Engineering Manager. - Establish / manage the engineering budget, schedule, quantity, quality, and cost and maintains ownership, and ensures execution within approved budgets for assigned units/facilities. - Complete ownership in managing the statutory and company specific design reviews i.e., 3D Model Reviews, Safety Reviews, etc. Ensures that requisite supporting documentation is completed on schedule and open issues are resolved with client. - Coordinate evaluation and comment on customers specifications focusing on technical matters and successfully discuss and agree with customers and/or consultants on technical concepts and requirements - Establishes / manages and reviews the engineering project schedule for assigned units/facilities. - Ensures the facilities are designed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner in accordance with policies and all applicable laws, regulations, authorization basis, codes, standards, and technical requirements. - Provides oversight management of technical documentation to procurement, construction, and third parties for assigned units/facilities. - Co-ordinates technical and commercial reviews on engineering outputs from the project / program, reviews contract documentation. - Undertakes design co-ordination meetings with construction at various phases including implementation of Design for Safe Construction Procedure for assigned units/facilities. - Instigates and reviews TIC reduction opportunities / proposals - Ensures that statutory and company specific design reviews are undertaken and are in accordance with QA procedures in place at the time Education And Experience Requirements - A recognized bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university - Executed at least 1 Combined Cycle Project in a Area Project Engineer role. - 20 years plus of working experience Required Knowledge And Skills - Working knowledge of proposal development and Feed qty development. - Scope and Quantity development of EPC estimates - Working knowledge of industry / regulatory standards and design criteria within the engineering disciplines. - Working knowledge of 3D Model preferably Hexagon Smart Plant 3D and SPR tools. - Prepare weekly/monthly reports, including progress updates and technical documentation. - Working knowledge of construction practices and procedures. - Ability to develop innovative ideas to reduce project total installed costs (TIC). - Ability to present technical design issues to customers and suppliers and the ability to recommend solutions based on knowledge and experience - Understands digital data delivery.concepts. - Proficient execution planning, resource allocation skills Total Rewards/Benefits For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond Because our teams face some of the world's toughest challenges, we offer robust benefits to ensure our people thrive.
