Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Design & Drafting: - Create detailed 2D and 3D models, drawings, and technical specifications using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, etc.). - Develop and modify designs based on project requirements and technical specifications. - Ensure designs meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. - CAD Management: - Oversee the organization and maintenance of CAD files, libraries, and templates. - Develop and enforce CAD standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across all designs. - Manage the version control of all design documents and ensure they are updated regularly. - Project Coordination: - Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure design integration and alignment with project objectives. - Provide technical guidance and expertise during all phases of design, from concept to final implementation. - Review and ensure that the design work complies with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. - Mentorship & Training: - Train and mentor junior CAD designers in best practices, software usage, and design techniques. - Conduct CAD software training sessions for staff and ensure the team's skills are kept up to date with the latest industry tools. - Quality Assurance: - Conduct detailed design reviews and audits to ensure all drawings meet quality standards and accuracy. - Identify and resolve design discrepancies, technical issues, and errors. - Ensure all designs are documented properly for future use or modification. - Innovation & Process Improvement: - Continuously evaluate new CAD tools and technologies for potential integration into the workflow. - Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce errors, and streamline the design process. Required Qualifications: - Proven experience in CAD design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. - Expert proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, CATIA, etc.). - Excellent knowledge of drafting techniques, technical drawing standards, and industry-specific design protocols. - Experience in 3D modeling and simulation. - Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles. - Familiarity with industry codes, regulations, and design standards (e.g., ANSI, ISO). - A degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Design, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Preferred Skills: - Experience in the specific industry (e.g., construction, manufacturing, automotive, etc.). - Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other advanced design techniques. - Certification in CAD tools or software. - Strong project management skills and experience in coordinating cross-functional teams.
