Explore our world: www.mahina.co About the Role We are seeking an Senior Executive- Sourcing & Merchandising to join our team who will focus on strategic sourcing and vendor management, with expertise in fabric sourcing. The role requires strong negotiation, market research, and communication skills, instrumental in driving the company's sourcing strategies and enhancing product offerings for stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Supplier Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials (e.g., fabrics, elastics, trims) while maintaining cost-efficiency. - Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers to ensure the best possible value for the company. - Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure they meet quality, ethical, and sustainability standards. Material Sourcing: - Source high-quality fabric and other materials ensuring they meet design specifications, quality standards, and compliance regulations. - Stay updated on trends in fabrics, materials, and finishes within the lingerie industry to ensure the company remains competitive. Inventory Management: - Track and manage the inventory of sourced materials to ensure optimal stock levels, reducing both shortages and excess inventory. - Collaborate with the production team to forecast material requirements based on demand and production schedules. Trend Analysis & Market Research: - Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify emerging styles, colors, and consumer preferences, ensuring the product assortment remains current and appealing. - Regularly review competitors offerings, pricing strategies, and merchandising tactics to inform decision-making and strategy development. Cross-functional Collaboration: - Work closely with product development, design, and production teams to ensure that materials, product designs, and production schedules align with the merchandising plan. - Provide input to the design team regarding material availability, production timelines, and cost considerations during the product development phase. Sustainability & Compliance: - Ensure that sourcing strategies support the company's sustainability goals, including sourcing eco-friendly materials and working with suppliers who adhere to ethical practices. Qualifications & Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Textile Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field. - 4-5years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, or product development within the lingerie or apparel industry. - Exceptional skills in negotiation, leveraging market understanding to secure cost-effective procurement deals. - Strong analytical skills with a robust capability in conducting market research to identify sourcing opportunities and strategies - Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams. - Knowledge of trends in the lingerie market and understanding of consumer preferences in lingerie and intimate apparel. - Ability to develop and maintain productive vendor relationships to foster long-term partnerships and collaborations. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with sourcing/merchandising software is a plus. - Candidate should have predominantly knits experience
