Safety Officer

Job Summary The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing monitoring and continuously improving safety protocols and practices in the forging unit This role ensures compliance with legal standards promotes a culture of safety and minimizes risks related to high-heat high-pressure forging operations Key Responsibilities Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits of forging operations Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws regulations and internal policies OSHA Factories Act etc Identify hazards such as heat stress pinch points heavy lifting and noise exposure implement mitigation measures Develop and maintain Job Safety Analyses JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures SOPs Train employees on safety procedures PPE usage emergency response and safe machine operation Investigate incidents accidents and near misses prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions Monitor proper use of safety gear and PPE in hot forging and press environments Ensure safe handling storage and disposal of hazardous materials lubricants oils etc Conduct fire drills evacuation drills and emergency preparedness training Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure lockout tagout LOTO procedures are followed Maintain safety documentation and safety data sheets SDS for all chemicals and equipment Act as a point of contact for external safety audits and inspections Qualifications Skills Bachelor s Diploma degree in Engineering Industrial Safety or equivalent Certification in Industrial Safety e g NEBOSH IOSH or local equivalent Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing or forging environment In-depth knowledge of safety management systems SMS risk assessment tools and ISO 45001 standards Strong communication and training skills Ability to work in hot noisy and physically demanding environments Preferred Traits Proactive problem solver with attention to detail Strong leadership and team coordination skills Commitment to continuous improvement and employee welfare Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay 35 000 00 - 40 000 00 per month Benefits Provident Fund Experience Safety Officer 6 years Preferred Work Location In person
