Job Description

Position Overview:

As an IT Security Intern, you will have the chance to work closely with our IT Security team to support daily operations, monitor security system performance, security tools, logs and help with vulnerability management. You will gain practical experience in a variety of IT security functions, including threat analysis, incident response, security audits, endpoint security and more.

Key Responsibilities:

- Threat Monitoring and Analysis: Assist in monitoring security alerts, identifying potential threats, and escalating issues as needed across multiple tools used within the organization.
- Vulnerability Management: Help the cybersecurity engineer conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in patch management processes.
- Security Audits: Participate in audits and assist the IT Security Lead in assessing compliance with security standards, frameworks, and policies.
- Incident Response: Support the team in investigating and responding to security incidents and breaches.
- Security Awareness: Help the IT Security Lead raise awareness about best security practices across the organization.
- Research: Stay updated about the latest trends, tools, and threats in the cybersecurity space.
- Documentation: Help maintain records of security events, incidents, and analysis findings for future reference and compliance requirements.

We would be really happy if you have:

- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, etc.)
- Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, anti-virus software, intrusion detection systems, XDR/MDR and VPNs.
- Understanding of common operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS) and their security features.
- Familiarity with security protocols, encryption, and authentication methods.

Certifications (Optional but Preferred):

- CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Other Skills:

- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A proactive and curious attitude, eager to learn and develop skills.
