Installation & Setup Install, test, and commission wiring systems, switchboards, panels, sockets, and lighting fixtures. Set up and configure electrical control systems for homes, offices, factories, and commercial spaces. Install and connect electrical appliances, motors, and generators as required. Ensure that electrical systems are designed and installed according to industry standards and safety codes. 2. Maintenance & Repair Perform regular inspection and maintenance of electrical systems and components. Identify faulty wiring, damaged components, or power fluctuations and rectify them promptly. Replace defective parts such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and wiring. Schedule preventive maintenance to avoid system failures and ensure optimal performance. 3. Troubleshooting & Fault Diagnosis Use testing tools like multimeters, insulation testers, and clamp meters to identify electrical faults. Diagnose issues related to short circuits, voltage drops, power outages, and equipment malfunctioning. Recommend effective solutions to minimize downtime and reduce future risks. Ensure timely resolution of issues to maintain smooth operations. 4. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety guidelines, regulations, and industry codes to prevent accidents. Ensure proper earthing and grounding systems for all installations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and safety boots. Adhere to local, state, and national electrical standards and update knowledge regularly. 5. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities. Prepare reports on electrical faults, work completed, and required upgrades. Assist management in planning energy-saving strategies and equipment upgrades. Keep inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables used in electrical works. 6. Coordination & Teamwork Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to complete projects. Coordinate with other departments to plan scheduled maintenance without disrupting operations. Guide junior electricians, helpers, or apprentices when required. Required Skills & Competencies 1. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, circuit boards, transformers, and control systems. Familiarity with single-phase and three-phase systems. Proficiency in using tools like screwdrivers, drills, multimeters, soldering irons, and cutting machines. Understanding of electrical diagrams, blueprints, and load calculations. 2. Safety Awareness Knowledge of fire prevention techniques, first aid, and emergency response protocols. Ability to identify electrical hazards and take preventive measures. Adherence to safety standards such as IS, NEC, and IEC regulations. 3. Problem-Solving Skills Ability to diagnose electrical issues quickly and accurately. Offer effective, cost-efficient solutions without compromising safety. Handle unexpected situations and emergencies with a calm, solution-driven approach. 4.
