ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE BUSINESS: CIRCOR, INDUSTRIAL LOCATION: COIMBATORE, INDIA DIRECT REPORTING: SENIOR PRINCIPAL ENGINEER – ENGINEERING FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: NA POSITION DETAILS Position Summary The candidate will be part of the Industrial Valves ETO group Engineering team, supporting creation of Bills of materials, 3D CAD models and Engineering drawings for various valves projects and will be based in Coimbatore, India and reports to the Senior Principal Engineer (Industrial valves). This position requires interactions with other engineering associates, suppliers, and functional department personnel (production, supply chain, quality, project management, application engineering, etc.) in a concurrent Engineering environment to develop economical design solutions. Proficiency in 3D modeling, assembly & 2D drafting using Solid works is preferred. Principal Activities - Prepares Design 3D models, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and all design related documentation or reports. - Follow standard practices in creation of BOM in ERP based on engineering guidelines - Support engineered to order (ETO) activities for control valves - Update and standardize drawings to meet latest standards and Engineering guidelines. - Actively contribute and support Continuous improvement activities to reduce lead time of BOM, model and drawing creation and increase productivity - Contribute to business improvement activities, specifically Kaizen events and problem-solving activities. - Performs tolerance stack-ups, fits and clearances, and stress, strain and flow calculations as required. - Works with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Procurement, Operations and Project Management to ensure designs are manufacturable, inspect able, and within cost targets. - Supports investigations into production problems when called upon and searches for solutions; advises and assists other department members on design issues. - Generates applicable test and assembly procedures and reports for design verification and manufacturing. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Good knowledge on codes and standards pertaining to valves / control valves. - Strong knowledge of component design and analysis techniques and utilization of best Engineering practices. Must understand the principal of cost and process effective design - Excellent 3D modeling and associative 2D, 3D drafting skills using one or more CAD tools such as Solid works or equivalent Engineering software tool. - Familiar with standard Engineering drafting practices - Hands-on knowledge in GD&T, following ASME Y14.5 standard is desirable - Exposure to design calculations to find the flow analysis & structural integrity of components. - Good written and oral communication skills. - Knowledge and experience to manage and document drawing changes / updates Core Competencies - Ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation. Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering. - Overall, 5 years of experience with at least 2 years of experience in control valves is mandatory.
