Job Description

Preferred Qualifications:

- Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical or field-based nutrition research

Required Competencies & Skills:

- Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative research team
- Attention to detail and time management
- Experience in scientific writing, including manuscripts and project proposals
- Familiarity with standard research protocols and SOP adherence
- Proficient in using research tools and data entry platforms

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Coordination

- Manage and oversee research project activities both at SJRI and the field site in Shivamogga

Participant Interaction & Data Collection

- Recruit study participants and conduct interviews, surveys, and nutritional assessments
- Handle infants and children during assessments in a sensitive and professional manner

Data Management

- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the project database
- Maintain data integrity, confidentiality, and quality throughout the study
- Assist in identifying and resolving data discrepancies or inconsistencies

Technical Support

- Provide assistance in setting up and calibrating instruments for nutritional assessments
- Ensure all procedures are in compliance with established SOPs and protocols

Monitoring & Field Work

- Participate in regular field visits to monitor study implementation and ensure protocol adherence

Research Output & Reporting

- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts
- Support the development of project proposals for funding

Additional Support

- Collaborate on other ongoing studies within the Division of Nutrition as needed
