1 Overview This position is for a Waiter Waitress at Restaurant Name a Type of Restaurant - e g upscale Italian restaurant casual family diner The primary objective is to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests by efficiently and professionally handling table service orders and payment processing 2 Key Responsibilities Greeting and seating guests promptly and courteously Taking accurate food and beverage orders suggesting menu items and answering questions about the menu Serving food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner ensuring proper presentation Checking back with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service Processing payments accurately and efficiently Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area including tables chairs and restrooms Assisting with setting up and breaking down tables as needed Following all health and safety regulations Working as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient service Handling customer complaints and resolving issues professionally Assisting with side work tasks as assigned e g silverware polishing refilling condiment containers Following established procedures for opening and closing duties 3 Technical Skills POS Point of Sale system operation Basic cash handling skills Ability to read and understand a menu Familiarity with table service etiquette Knowledge of food and beverage safety regulations 4 Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a waiter waitress preferred but not always required Food Handler s permit or willingness to obtain one 5 Skills Experience Exceptional Communication Skills The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and colleagues is paramount This includes active listening clear speaking and the ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy and professionalism Strong interpersonal skills are essential for creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere Teamwork Ability to collaborate effectively with other waitstaff kitchen staff and management Problem-solving skills Ability to efficiently handle customer complaints and resolve issues Time management skills Ability to manage multiple tables and tasks simultaneously Organization skills Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
