Job Description Job Title: Campus Manager Department: Facilities Management / Campus Operations Location: [Indus University , [Ahmedabad ] Job Overview: The Campus Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the university campus, with a focus on construction and renovation projects, operational management, and housekeeping services. This role ensures that the campus infrastructure is well-maintained, construction projects are completed on time and within budget, and campus cleanliness and order are upheld. The Campus Manager will be a key player in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities: - Construction and Renovation Management Oversee ongoing construction, renovation, and repair projects across campus facilities. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and university departments to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Monitor the progress of construction work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and university policies. Assist in planning and budgeting for future construction and renovation projects, working closely with the Facilities Management team. Conduct site inspections and work closely with external contractors and project managers to resolve issues promptly. - Campus Operations Oversight Manage daily campus operations, ensuring that all facilities (classrooms, offices, common areas) are clean, functional, and well-maintained. Ensure the smooth operation of campus utilities and infrastructure (e.g., HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing). Act as a point of contact for any operational issues or requests from faculty, staff, or students. Ensure all campus policies and procedures related to operations and facilities management are adhered to. Collaborate with IT and security teams to maintain functional and secure campus technology systems (e.g., Wi-Fi, security cameras). Housekeeping and Janitorial Services Management Supervise and coordinate housekeeping and janitorial staff to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across campus buildings and common areas. Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure that all areas, including restrooms, classrooms, offices, and hallways, are cleaned to the highest standard. Ensure that all housekeeping staff are trained in the use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety protocols. Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and ordering supplies as needed. Conduct regular inspections of campus facilities to ensure cleanliness and resolve any concerns promptly. - Safety and Compliance Ensure that all construction and operational activities comply with university safety protocols and government regulations. Conduct regular safety audits of facilities and construction sites to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies. Maintain proper records for safety inspections, construction project timelines, and housekeeping audits. Implement and enforce emergency preparedness procedures for staff and faculty, including fire drills and other safety measures. - Vendor and Contractor Relations Manage relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers related to construction, maintenance, and housekeeping services. Negotiate contracts, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards for campus facilities. Monitor the performance of external vendors and contractors, addressing any concerns or performance issues as necessary. - Budgeting and Resource Management Assist in the development and management of the budget for campus operations, construction projects, and housekeeping services. Monitor expenses to ensure adherence to budget, identifying opportunities for cost-saving without compromising service quality. Prepare reports on financial performance and operational efficiency to be presented to university leadership. - Team Leadership and Staff Management Lead, supervise, and motivate the facilities, operations, housekeeping, and construction teams. Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff and provide necessary training and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment to ensure smooth operations across the campus. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). At least 4 +years of experience in campus operations, construction management, or facilities management, with significant experience in managing teams. Strong knowledge of construction processes, facility management, and housekeeping operations. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage staff, contractors, and vendors. Experience in managing budgets and resources for construction or facilities management projects. Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in construction and campus operations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in higher education or a large organizational setting. Familiarity with sustainable practices in construction and facilities management. Proficiency with facilities management software or tools. Working Conditions: Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend hours required for special projects or emergencies.
