Information Technology Network Engineer

Position Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and self-driven IT Network Engineer to support our organization's network infrastructure across processing centers, stores, hubs, and corporate offices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting networks, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of the IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on role involving proactive network monitoring, incident response, and implementation of network best practices. Key Responsibilities: Network Configuration & Maintenance - Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and other network devices. - Monitor network performance and proactively address latency, connectivity, or throughput issues. - Ensure high availability of enterprise voice and data networks through redundancy and failover strategies. - Implement firmware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes as needed. Troubleshooting & Support - Respond to network incidents and resolve issues related to LAN/WAN, wireless, and internet connectivity. - Coordinate with ISPs and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve external connectivity issues. - Maintain documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and issue resolution procedures. Security & Compliance - Ensure secure network access through firewalls, VPNs, and authentication controls. - Monitor network for unusual activity, perform vulnerability assessments, and apply corrective actions. - Collaborate with IT security team to implement policies and ensure compliance with data protection standards. Collaboration & Implementation - Work with cross-functional IT teams to support new location setups including hubs and stores. - Assist in network capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades. - Provide network-related input for IT infrastructure and service desk projects. Reporting & Documentation - Maintain logs for network events and generate performance and availability reports. - Create SOPs for network deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting procedures. - Update inventory records of network devices and components. Required Qualifications & Skills: Experience: - 2–4 years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role. - Experience in managing multi-site enterprise networks including retail or warehouse locations. - Experience working with ISPs and vendor coordination for field implementation. Technical Skills: -Strong understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, SNMP. -Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or similar networking equipment. -Hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco Meraki dashboard and devices. -Experience with Fortinet firewalls including rule management and site-to-site VPN setup. -Proficiency in deploying and troubleshooting Aruba wireless networks, including Instant APs and controllers. -Knowledge of firewall configuration, ACLs, and secure access policies. -Experience with network monitoring tools (e.G., PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix). -Understanding of wireless networking standards and troubleshooting (2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi). Soft Skills: - Strong diagnostic and analytical skills. - Effective communication and documentation abilities. - Ability to work independently or as part of a team. - Willingness to travel to sites as required. Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. - Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
