This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead Your role and responsibilities : In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Research and Development (R&D) employees and support them in achieving the agreed R&D targets. Each day, you will coach and develop the team. You will also showcase your expertise by helping in managing technologies, platforms, and Intellectual Property. This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Distribution Solutions Division in Bangalore, India. You will be mainly accountable for: - Plan and manage effective project portfolio for R&D team, including capacity levels and resources as well as efficient, timely, and quality-driven project execution - Work in close collaboration with management to ensure appropriate representation of needs relating to R&D projects. - Manage resources for R&D activities, assign tasks to team members, and supervise workload and work allocation within the project team - Support the team in continuously developing a process fitting to the requirements of the company environment. - Handle factory related project requirements to enable its execution as per the set requirements - Ensures understanding of customer value. Take into consideration requirements and demands coming from customers and from different ABB functions (sales, supply, production, etc.). Acts to ensure customer satisfaction and expectations. - Serves as the key contact for the project stakeholders. Effectively communicates appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support. - Manages relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, other R&D teams in Technology Center and/or Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g. customers, academia). Qualifications for the role: - BE / B. Tech / ME / M. Tech, Computer Science/ Electrical or/Electronics and communication / Electronics and Instrumentation. - Working experience in software specially in Microsoft technologies like C#, WinForms and WPF - 8 to 10 years of experience in software development and 2-3 years in project management - Leadership and people management skills preferable More about us : ABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening the resilience of the grid.
