This is a position with grade 13 This position reports to R&D Team Lead Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific prod-uct-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. You will be mainly accountable for: • As a R&D Software engineer, this role demands programming embedded systems in substations application. • This development needs strong knowledge in Software development methodologies and quality process and practices as per CMMI, good knowledge in power systems domain especially about protection & control relays and systems. • This role demands solid demonstration of technical proficiency in own competence area by performing a variety of technology/engineering assignments, mainly in research and development (R&D) projects, which demonstrates independent ability to recognize problems and provide input to solutions. Actively follows the scientific discussions in own competence area and contributes independently • Contributes to R&D projects with own, creative ideas. Proposes follow-up projects and activities within own technical area based on new ideas. • As a solid R&D project member and contributor, with experience as project or sub-project leader, ensures alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and coordinates activities. Demonstrates sound understanding of, and actively applies, R&D processes and tools. Qualifications for the role - 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience. BE/MTech - Electrical Engg / Electronics Engg - Experience in designing and maintaining microservices architecture. - Build and customize embedded Linux distributions using the Yocto Project. Integrate third-party software packages and drivers into Yocto builds. Troubleshoot and debug Yocto-based systems for production environments. - Experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for container orchestration. Exper-tise in application hosting on Linux systems, with knowledge of both traditional and container-ized applications. - Should have Knowledge on Cyber security for products based on Linux. Solid understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, VPNs, IP routing, and firewalls. - Implement and manage RAUC (Robust Auto-Update Controller) for over-the-air (OTA) firmware and software updates in embedded systems. Configure firewalls (iptables, nftables) to control network access and safeguard the system from external threats.
