Role Description Our team is looking for a detail-oriented and analytically minded Scientific Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of research data—from raw dataset cleaning to advanced visual interpretation. You will play a critical role in transforming raw data from preclinical (in vitro/in vivo) and clinical studies into high-quality statistical reports, publication-ready figures, and meaningful scientific conclusions. Key Responsibilities 1. Data Management & Integrity - Import, clean, and organize raw data from various formats (Excel, CSV, Electronic Data Capture systems) to ensure accuracy and consistency. - Perform quality control (QC) checks on datasets to identify outliers, missing values, or data entry errors prior to analysis. - Format datasets to be compatible with specific analytical software (GraphPad Prism, SPSS, etc.). 2. Statistical Analysis - Select and apply appropriate statistical tests based on study design (e.g., ANOVA, t-tests, regression analysis, survival analysis/Kaplan-Meier, non-parametric tests). - Analyze preclinical data (e.g., PK/PD studies, toxicology, IC50/EC50 calculations) and clinical trial data (efficacy and safety endpoints). - Interpret statistical outputs (p-values, confidence intervals, effect sizes) in the context of biological relevance. 3. Visualization & Reporting - Generate high-resolution, publication-quality graphs (bar charts, scatter plots, heatmaps, forest plots) using GraphPad Prism or similar tools. - Create comprehensive summary tables and formatted figures for manuscripts, regulatory submissions, and internal presentations. - Draft the "Statistical Methods" and "Results" sections for study reports and scientific publications. Required Qualifications - Education: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Biostatistics, Life Sciences, Data Science, or a related field. - Experience: 6+ months of experience handling scientific data in a pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or academic research setting. Technical Skills (Must-Have) - Statistical Software: Advanced proficiency in GraphPad Prism (essential for preclinical visualization) and SPSS, SAS, or R (for complex statistical modeling). - Data Handling: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and handling CSV/Text data files. - Domain Knowledge: Understanding of experimental designs (randomization, blinding) in preclinical (animal) and clinical (human) studies. Soft Skills - Scientific Literacy: Ability to understand the biological context of the data to provide meaningful interpretation rather than just numerical output. - Attention to Detail: Uncompromising accuracy in data validation and reporting. - Communication: Ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians and research scientists.
