Job Description Job Title: Peer Trainer Vision Project (Digital Literacy for Visually Impaired Students) Organization: Kara Medical Foundation Location: Delhi Type: Part-time, Contractual Working Hours: 10 hours per week (Monday to Saturday) About Kara Medical Foundation Kara Medical Foundation is a registered charitable trust committed to improving the lives of persons with disabilities through assistive technology, education, and caregiver support. Under our Vision Project, we focus on empowering visually impaired students by enhancing their digital literacy and accessibility through smartphones. Position Overview We are seeking a Visually Impaired Peer Trainer to support our Vision Project in Delhi. The trainer will work closely with visually impaired students to build their digital literacy skills, with a special emphasis on using smartphones effectively with accessibility tools such as TalkBack. This is a part-time contractual role requiring 10 hours of engagement per week, spread across Monday to Saturday. Key Responsibilities Train visually impaired students in smartphone-based digital literacy. Provide hands-on guidance on using accessibility features, especially TalkBack. Support students in building confidence to independently use digital tools for education, communication, and daily living. Travel within Delhi to conduct sessions at schools, training centers, or community spaces as needed. Work in alignment with the goals of Kara Medical Foundation's Vision Project. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the training curriculum and approach. Qualifications & Skills Must be visually impaired (peer training model). Strong working knowledge of TalkBack and other accessibility features on smartphones. Prior experience in teaching/training, especially with visually impaired learners, is desirable but not mandatory. Good communication skills and the ability to connect with students. Willingness to travel within Delhi for sessions. Commitment to working 10 hours per week.
