Location: Kolkata, India (Office-based, with travel across India and abroad as required) Experience: 5-8+ years (Senior level) Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Negotiable (Competitive salary with standard benefits) Availability: Immediate joiners preferred (urgent requirement) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with expertise in GIS, BIM, and 3D GIS modeling to lead complex geospatial projects. In this role, you will oversee the creation of digital twins and advanced 3D models, integrating data from LiDAR surveys, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and other remote sensing technologies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in CAD design, ArcGIS Pro (and its extensions), MicroStation, Autodesk Revit, and end-to-end management of geospatial projects. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality models and GIS datasets up to LOD 100-500 standards, managing project teams and vendors, and ensuring successful project delivery on time and within scope. Key Responsibilities · Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee end-to-end GIS/BIM projects (digital twin initiatives, 3D GIS modeling) to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes. Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets, coordinating cross-functional teams of GIS analysts, BIM modelers, and CAD technicians. · Survey & Data Acquisition: Coordinate various survey activities including aerial drone LiDAR, mobile (vehicle-mounted) LiDAR, backpack LiDAR, and 3D GPR surveys. Ensure proper ground control and data collection protocols are followed for accurate spatial data acquisition. · Data Processing & Integration: Oversee the processing of LiDAR point clouds, GPR data, and other survey outputs. Guide the team in converting raw survey data into usable CAD drawings, GIS datasets, and BIM models. Ensure integration of different data sources (GIS layers, remote sensing imagery, CAD drawings, BIM data) into a cohesive 3D GIS environment or digital twin platform. · BIM & Modeling: Lead the creation and refinement of 3D models in Revit or other BIM software, ensuring models meet the required Level of Development (LOD 100–500) per project needs. Coordinate with the team to update and maintain BIM models and GIS databases, guaranteeing accuracy and consistency across all data. · Quality Assurance: Implement QA/QC processes for all spatial data and models. Validate the accuracy of GIS layers, CAD drawings, and BIM components, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. · Vendor Management: Identify, engage, and manage external vendors or subcontractors for specialized surveying and data processing tasks. Leverage your industry contacts to source reliable vendors (for LiDAR surveys, GPR services, etc.), negotiate contracts, and ensure vendors meet quality and timeline expectations. · Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Provide regular project updates and technical insights, and address any challenges in survey execution or data processing. Work closely with clients to understand requirements and ensure deliverables align with their expectations. · Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical guidance to the team in using ArcGIS Pro (and its extensions), AutoCAD/MicroStation, Revit, and other relevant software. Stay updated with the latest trends in GIS, BIM, and remote sensing, and introduce innovative solutions (e.G. improved digital twin visualizations or automated workflows) to enhance project outcomes. · Problem Solving: Anticipate and overcome challenges in field surveys and data integration. Use your network of industry contacts and vendors to quickly resolve issues related to equipment, software, or data quality. Ensure that any obstacles (technical or logistical) are addressed promptly to keep the project on track. · Documentation & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including work plans, progress reports, and final deliverables. Document methodologies for survey and data processing, and maintain organized records of all datasets, models, and revisions. Required Qualifications and Skills · Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geoinformatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field. · Experience: 5 to 8+ years of hands-on experience in GIS, BIM, and 3D modeling projects, with at least a few years in a project management or lead role. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex geospatial or infrastructure projects. · GIS & Remote Sensing: Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and related extensions (3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, etc.). Experience in working with satellite imagery or aerial photography and integrating remote sensing data into GIS projects. · CAD & BIM Software: Strong skills in CAD software (AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation) for creating and editing technical drawings. Expertise in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit (experience with other BIM tools or platforms is a plus) for developing detailed 3D models of infrastructure or buildings. · LiDAR & GPR: Demonstrated experience in LiDAR data processing (e.G., working with point cloud data from aerial/mobile LiDAR using tools like TerraScan, Leica Cyclone, or similar) to produce accurate terrain models and 3D assets. Familiarity with ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey techniques and processing GPR data for subsurface mapping is highly desirable. · 3D Modeling & Digital Twin: Familiarity with creating integrated 3D GIS models and digital twins that combine BIM and GIS data. Understanding of managing and visualizing assets in a geospatial context with real-world coordinates and attributes (experience with city-scale 3D modeling standards like CityGML or related tools is a plus). · Project Management Skills: Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate multiple moving parts of a project. Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.G., scheduling, risk management, reporting) to track progress and deliver results. · Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to source and manage vendors for survey and data processing tasks. Good negotiation skills and capacity to maintain professional relationships in the geospatial industry. Effective at communicating with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring customer satisfaction. · Problem-Solving Aptitude: Keen aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues in survey equipment, data quality, or software workflows. A resourceful approach to find solutions and the ability to utilize industry contacts to resolve specialized problems quickly. · Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Fluent in English (additional regional languages would be a plus). · Travel Availability: Willingness to travel to project sites across India and internationally as required. Flexibility to undertake short-term assignments on-site to supervise surveys or meet with clients. · Joining Availability: Candidates who can join immediately or on short notice will be given preference due to the urgent requirement.
