Rural Sales Intern Location Field-based – Rural & Semi-Urban Areas (District / Block level) Duration 3–6 Months (Extendable / Convertible to Full-Time based on performance) Stipend Monthly stipend + travel allowance + performance incentives (if applicable) Role Objective The Rural Sales Intern will support on-ground sales and market-development activities in rural and semi-urban regions. The role focuses on creating awareness, generating leads, supporting conversions, and building long-term relationships with local stakeholders. Key ResponsibilitiesField Sales & Outreach - Conduct daily field visits to villages, small towns, PHCs, clinics, pharmacies, and local institutions - Introduce and explain the product/service to potential customers in simple, local language - Assist in demonstrations, pilot deployments, or trial usage where required Lead Generation & Follow-ups - Identify and document potential customers and partners - Support follow-up visits, basic negotiations, and closing discussions under guidance - Maintain basic records of leads, visits, and outcomes Market Intelligence - Collect feedback from customers on pricing, usability, and local needs - Track competitor presence and alternative solutions available locally - Report insights on demand patterns, seasonal trends, and buying behaviour Relationship Building - Build rapport with local healthcare workers, shop owners, NGOs, and community influencers - Coordinate with local authorities or institutions when required Reporting & Coordination - Submit daily/weekly field reports (visits, leads, learnings) - Coordinate with the central sales and operations team Eligibility & ProfileEducational Background - Recent graduates in: - Pharmacy - BMLT / DMLT - Life Sciences - Management / Marketing - Any relevant healthcare or sales-oriented discipline Skills & Traits - Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas - Strong communication skills; comfort with local languages is a plus - Basic understanding of sales or strong interest in field sales - Resilient mindset – ability to handle rejection and continue outreach - High energy, self-driven, and comfortable working independently - Basic smartphone usage (WhatsApp, Excel/Google Sheets preferred) What the Intern Will Gain - Real-world exposure to rural sales and grassroots market building - Hands-on experience in selling a concept, not just a product - Deep understanding of rural customer behaviour and healthcare gaps - Opportunity for Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) or full-time role based on performance - Certificate and recommendation letter upon successful completion Ideal For - Candidates who want ground-level sales exposure - Those interested in healthcare, social impact, or rural markets - Individuals who want to build a strong foundation in B2B field sales
