Insuritys Cloud Applications Architect

Join our innovative Cloud Operations Team as a Cloud Applications Architect and shape the future of scalable enterprise systems In this pivotal role, you will architect, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud-based applications and infrastructure that power our critical business platforms. With a strong foundation in Java, Groovy scripting, and cloud-native technologies, you will play a key role in modernizing our application and automation stack, improving performance, and ensuring seamless integration across hybrid environments.

You will collaborate closely with DevOps, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and security across distributed systems. Your work will involve backend development, advanced troubleshooting, and infrastructure diagnostics all while driving excellence in service delivery through Agile practices and a customer-first mindset.

What Our Cloud Applications ArchitectWill Do

- Architect and manage cloud-hosted applications across Azure and AWS, ensuring high performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Automation leadership, modernizing and consolidating our automation platforms
- Integration services between our customers platforms and the Insurity Cloud such as authentication, file sharing, etc
- Lead application operations integration, guiding product teams to design and deploy cloud-compliant solutions while establishing clear technology life cycles and ensuring alignment with Insurity Cloud best practices.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to team members across geographies, collaborating with architects in North America and driving productivity improvements for India-based teams.
- Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues, utilizing tools like Dynatrace and Solarwinds, while serving as a technical escalation point for critical production problems.
- Configure and manage Tomcat and Apache servers on various Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Amazon Linux), and address system-level issues in collaboration with network and security teams.
- Automate and enhance application functionality using Groovy and JavaScript and streamline operations through scripting and monitoring.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, cloud operations, and security teams to strategize on future application hosting, performance optimization, and integration of new products into the Insurity Cloud.
- Support Agile delivery practices, track work using Jira, and lead or participate in on-call rotations to maintain high service reliability and availability.
- Continuously stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and cloud architecture best practices by engaging with professional publications, communities, and technical resources.

Who Were Looking For

- 12+ years experience in managing enterprise-grade, 24x7 high-availability production environments
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with:

- Core and Advanced Java for backend development, debugging, and performance optimization
- Groovy and JavaScript scripting for automation and business logic customization
- Linux server administration across multiple distributions including RHEL 9.3/9.4, CentOS 7, and Amazon Linux (2 & 2023), deployed in Azure, AWS, and private cloud environments
- Apache Tomcat configuration and management on Linux servers
- Cloud platforms such as Azure (US/CA), AWS (CXP), and Insuritys private cloud, with the ability to troubleshoot cloud-specific deployment and runtime issues
- Relational databases (MS SQL, MySQL) with strong SQL querying, performance tuning, and data integrity focus
- Networking and encryption fundamentals, including PGP/GPG encryption for secure data exchange
- System and application monitoring tools like Dynatrace and SolarWinds for root cause analysis and proactive health checks

- Agile development practices using Jira for sprint planning and task tracking
- Strong customer-focused mindset, ensuring service responsiveness and high availability
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members, collaborate with North American architects and teams, and enhance team productivity in India
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as per business needs
