Job Title Counselor Medical Background Location Varachha SuratDepartment Patient Services CounselingEmployment Type Full-timeJob Summary We are looking for a Counselor with a medical background to join our multi-speciality hospital in Varachha Surat The ideal candidate will come from a background such as a Doctor Medical Representative MR or Pharmacist and will be responsible for attending to casualties emergencies and walk-in patients The Counselor will assess patient conditions provide preliminary guidance and make informed decisions on whether the patient should be admitted as an inpatient for further treatment Strong medical knowledge and the ability to handle critical situations with calmness and clarity are essential for this role Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment Counseling Attend to patients arriving at the hospital with medical emergencies or seeking medical advice Conduct a thorough assessment of the patients symptoms medical history and condition to gauge the severity of the issue Provide preliminary guidance and medical counseling based on the patients condition explaining potential treatments and next steps Emergency Casualty Management Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations ensuring patients receive prompt care Communicate with the medical team to prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition Advise patients and their families on whether admission as an inpatient is necessary based on the medical evaluation Inpatient Admission Coordination Make informed decisions on admitting patients for inpatient care or hospitalization based on medical criteria Coordinate with the hospitals medical staff to ensure smooth and efficient admission processes Counsel patients and their families on the process of inpatient care including treatment plans procedures and potential outcomes Medical Triage Work closely with doctors nurses and emergency personnel to ensure accurate and timely triage of patients Prioritize cases based on the urgency of the condition ensuring critical patients receive immediate care Documentation Reporting Maintain detailed records of patient interactions assessments and advice provided Ensure that patient files are updated with all necessary information for admission treatment and follow-up care Collaboration Communication Collaborate with the hospitals emergency department outpatient department and inpatient team to ensure a seamless patient experience Communicate effectively with patients and their families providing clear information about their condition and care options Key Qualifications Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a medical role such as Doctor Medical Representative MR or Pharmacist Hands-on experience in dealing with emergency cases and assessing patient conditions in a hospital setting Education Bachelors degree or diploma in Medicine Pharmacy or a related field Additional certifications in emergency care triage or first aid are a plus Skills Strong knowledge of emergency medical care patient assessment and hospital admission processes Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick informed decisions Excellent communication skills to guide patients and their families through stressful situations Proficiency in MS Office and hospital management systems Fluency in Gujarati Hindi and English is essential Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a multi-speciality hospital or emergency care unit Training or certification in triage and emergency medical response Why Join UsAs a Counselor at our multi-speciality hospital you will be at the forefront of patient care ensuring that those in need of immediate medical attention are handled with the utmost care and professionalism You will play a vital role in guiding patients and their families through critical moments offering them reassurance and helping them make informed decisions about their health
