Job Description

About the Role We are a firm specialising in Public Affairs and Strategic Communication, serving various governments and corporates across India. We are looking for a dynamic and well-networked Media Coordinator to join our team in Bengaluru. This role is ideal for someone who has experience working on the political or government beateither as a journalist or in the public relations space for political organisations or campaigns. This role will be based Bengaluru.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong working relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and key stakeholders in the media industry. Proactively pitch stories, manage media inquiries, facilitate interviews & coverage for clients. Monitor daily news cycles and flag important developments to the internal team and clients. Support the planning and execution of press conferences, media briefings, and outreach events. Coordinate closely with the internal team to align media strategies with overall communications goals. Create and maintain media lists and outreach documentation. Assist in managing media crises and support damage control efforts when needed. Ensure timely dissemination of press releases and statements to appropriate media contacts.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in journalism, political public relations, media outreach, or related field. Strong existing network of contacts in the Bengaluru-based media fraternity. Sound understanding of the Indian political and governance landscape. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple relationships simultaneously. Proven interpersonal skills and a diplomatic approach to media handling. A former journalist or someone who has worked with a political party or government outreach team will be preferred.
