The Role

As a Mainframe iSeries System Administrator at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts - good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally 'figuring it out.' This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients. Contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate system. This role isn&apost specific to any one platform, so you&aposll need a good feel for all of them. And because of this, you&aposll experience variety and growth at Kyndryl that you won&apost find anywhere else.

You&aposll be involved early to offer solutions, help decide whether something can be done, and identify the technical and timeline risks up front. This means dealing with both client expectations and internal challenges - in other words, there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference, and a lot of people will witness your contributions. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

- 8 to 11 Years of Experience in IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) Administration
- iSeries H/W and S/W config, install, migration and maintenance
- Experience with BRMS (Backup, Recovery and Media Services) or other backup tools
- OS/400 Security Management
- Problem and Change Management process and tool knowledge.
- Performance and Capacity Management (PM400 and Perf Navigator).
- iSeries Job Schedulers - Robot, IBM Advanced Job Scheduler (IJS) and the Native Job Scheduler (WRKJOBSCDE).
- Power system, VIOS and HMC management
- Expertise knowledge in High Availability
- PCI and SOX Compliance knowledge
- IBM supported network architecture and configurations - TCP/IP, SNI, SNA.
- New system builds and decommissions.

Preferred Technical And Professional Qualifications

- Bachelor&aposs degree in computer science or a related field
- Knowledge on iSeries environment with VIOS/External storage and Virtual Tape Library like Protec Tier/DSI VTL/EMC Data domain
- Knowledge of Automation/Monitoring tool
- Working knowledge on Power6/Power7/Power8/Power9
