**Role Purpose**
HSBC's Global Markets business is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It combines sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets. The services are offered through a network in more than 60 countries and territories worldwide. The trading and sales forces attend to customers that include the world's central banks, international and local corporations, institutional investors, financial institutions and other market participants. GM specializes in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.
The role holder will be responsible for supporting the Global Debt Markets COO Office with the asset class strategic initiatives, controls, regulatory change, MI reporting, change programmes, issues and other important business impacts which are critical to both understand and to be positioned to provide support for where necessary
**The Opportunity**:
- **Impact on the Business**:
Coordination of GDM owned Governance forums including the various Committee - agenda, action points, information gathering for agenda topics, production of information packs
- Supporting business management on new business development, establishing & streamlining processes & collaborating with the Global COO’s on strategic projects
- Coordination and ownership of Management Information required by the GDM COOs for business monitoring and key decision making - across strategic initiatives, business performance and headcount
- Streamlined Management Office information gathering, production and reporting
- Efficient and effective supervisory support including embedding the operational risk framework, verifications, maintenance of Authorisations, Support of the FO Governance, contribution to audits & drive effective thematic business specific controls
- Support the FO Supervision and Controls related governance, monitoring & embedding the operational Risk Framework, driving effective thematic business specific controls
- Lead Regulatory change projects with impact on GDM activities, products and processes, facilitate & contribute to resp. regulatory governances, perform controls and analysis and on the look-out for new regulation and potential impact on the desk
- Interaction with key Markets support Functions including Operations, Compliance, Finance and Product Control, and Technology with regards to Management Office governance forums and associated information gathering
- Periodic review and update of instruction and procedural manuals
- Support the Head of Business and Global COO in GDM / GM initiatives & managing ad-hoc requests
**Typical KPIs and Targets**
- Effective communication networks used to maintain positive relationships and gather momentums on items as necessary
- Ability to drive change through effective project planning and execution on regulatory driven projects and initiatives
- Positive collaboration with the COO, Reg. team, and other teams within the GDM functions & also beyond GDM with partners in other asset classes and support function
- Enhance & develop understanding of the Reg. topics to become Champions in Transformation programs
- Effective PLAs for all processes with strong governance and oversight
- Consistent and accurate checks on control reports, trade exceptions and escalations
- Timely updates on any actions due for the projects/ programmes
- Publishing accurate MIs and management pack
- Ensure timely information is produced on a routine and streamlined basis
- Feedback from the Global Management team

- GDM Business Management, COO Community, Desk Heads and other key Front Office resources Globally
- GDM Global support functions including Operations, Compliance, Finance and Product Control, and Technology
- Head of Markets, Bangalore
- Feedback from Key Markets stakeholders

- Ability to drive change with COO Community & Business Managers
**Leadership & Teamwork**:
- Responsible for ensuring seamless communication and teamwork between COO Function resources in Onshore locations and counterpart resources in Bangalore
