America Compliance and Governance Assistant’s primary role is to Conduct scheduled HR compliance assessments and audits and checks on systems, records, HR Policies, etc. to avoid any legal liabilities and risks to reputation. Analyze results and provide formal and informal reports of findings, including recommendations for improvement. assist with related corrective action as needed.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Conduct a regular and routine review of HR policies and practices to keep on top of our HR regulation compliance, and make recommendations to the policy owners.
- Conduct regular gap analysis on current compliance-related HR processes and recommend change where necessary.
- Provide recommendations to remedy any control failings/gaps.
- Support in managing Quarterly Payroll Controls via the SCALA tool.
- Record keeping of OPERA incidents and tracking for closure.
- Undertake and follow up to help embed a compliant culture within HR Americas, to help ensure we are compliant with applicable regulations and policies.
- Assist in reporting and communicating the results of the compliance monitoring activities and be forward-thinking on ways to drive efficiencies across the suite of reporting and regular tasks. (Define metrics).
- Assist with the development of the risk-based Annual Compliance Monitoring plan (Compliance Calendar).
- Creating an inventory list of policies and procedures by sub-function in HR and accordingly create a review calendar and follow up with the Owner to ensure review is done regularly.
- Ensure content on the Sharepoint site is up to date - work with owners to update the content regularly.
- Own document retention procedures and schedules for Americas HR.
- Supporting in US Compliance reporting.
- Keeping Process documentation up to date and conducting Value Stream mapping exercises to clear the waste from processes.

**Required Skills and Abilities**:

- HR Compliance monitoring experience in a general insurance setting.
- Experience of working within risk and control evaluation programs in a compliance monitoring environment.
- Outstanding track record of delivery of compliance initiatives.
- Outstanding planning and organizational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to maximize the use of your time through time management and prioritization.
- Communicate effectively with business units at all levels and develop effective working relationships.
- Ability to work self-directly and to make decisions/and recommendations.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate written information.

**Desired Skills and Abilities**:

- ACII or Compliance qualifications.
- Knowledge of US regulations.
- Advanced MS Excel skills
