**JOB DESCRIPTION: Pastry Chef for a D2C Confectionary Start-up**

A new D2C confectionary start-up is seeking a talented Pastry Chef (from Mumbai) to join full-time and help create products that are unique to the market. The vision is to offer premium, hand-crafted, artisanal, gourmet confections like tea cakes, travel cakes, brownies, cookies, and other such delicacies, in a completely distinctive form factor.

This is an independent, self-funded, grassroots family business, looking to grow and become an established brand.

Our aim is to create familiar yet exciting and intriguing flavour profiles by incorporating and pairing unusual ingredients into handmade confections. Our goal is to constantly surprise our customers with quirky and unconventional flavours new to the Indian palette. We believe this distinct approach will help us set ourselves apart from competing brands and make a name for ourselves in the world of gourmet confections.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and developing both original recipes and those inspired by renowned chefs from all over the world. Moreover, you will also be responsible for preparing and manufacturing the products on a daily basis, ensuring that all products meet our high standards for taste, texture, and presentation. You will be an integral part of our start-up team, collaborating with us to create a cohesive brand image and drive the growth of our business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Creating and developing unique recipes for our brand.
- Preparing and manufacturing products daily.
- Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensuring that all products meet our high standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
- Collaborating with the team to create a cohesive brand image.
- Ensuring that all products are prepared and presented in a safe and hygienic manner.**

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in baking or pastry arts, preferably in a professional kitchen, but not necessarily.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Creative and innovative with a passion for unique and exotic baked goods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver products within tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team.
- Having some knowledge, background, or experience in Food Technology, although this isn't a must.**
