We’re looking for a Book Production Associate to join our team. The Book Production Associate plays a critical role in the creation and production of books. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing various aspects of the book production process, ensuring that books are produced efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. This role requires a combination of organisational skills, attention to detail, communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the publishing industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with authors, editors, designers, and other team members to manage the production timeline of books from manuscript to final printed copies.
- Create and maintain production schedules, tracking deadlines for various production stages
- Review manuscripts for consistency, grammar, spelling, and formatting errors.
- Collaborate with authors and editors to ensure content accuracy and adherence to publishing standards.
- Convert manuscript text into a visually appealing layout, ensuring proper fonts, spacing, and alignment.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to create captivating and marketable book covers that align with the book's content and target audience.
- Liaise with printing companies to ensure high-quality printing and binding of books.
- Review and approve printer proofs to ensure accurate reproduction of the design and content.
- Conduct thorough quality checks at various stages of production to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies.
- Convert print-ready files into ebook formats, ensuring compatibility with various ebook readers and devices.
- Maintain open communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on the progress of book production.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, such as printers, typesetters, and designers, to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
- Ensure that books meet industry standards, copyright requirements, and any specific guidelines set by the publishing company.
- Identify opportunities to streamline the production process, improve quality, and enhance overall efficiency.

**Requirements And Skills**:

- A bachelor's degree in publishing, communication, English, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the same domain.
- Strong proficiency in word processing software (Microsoft Word) and typesetting software (Adobe InDesign).
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
- Knowledge of book design principles and formatting techniques.
- Familiarity with printing processes and production workflows.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Prior experience in the publishing industry, especially in book production, is a plus.
