**Brief on the Organization**:
- Project Brief:
Evaluating health system quality requires an understanding of the care received by patients over time and across high burden health conditions like hypertension. Current data on health systems tend to focus on measuring coverage of health interventions. Data on the processes of care, on users’ experience with care, and on the impacts of quality care are missing. In addition, nearly all existing data on quality are cross-sectional, retrospective, and suffer from recall bias. Timely and longitudinal data on health system performance for people with priority conditions is needed. The purpose of this project is to use a mobile phone e-cohort to track care quality for hypertension in Sonipat (Haryana), Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and Jodhpur (Rajasthan). Patients with uncontrolled hypertension will be recruited and followed monthly using mobile phone surveys which will be conducted with live interviewers. Policy makers will be able to use the results of e-cohorts to monitor performance gaps along the continuum of care. The results will pinpoint bottlenecks for health system performance and will inform quality improvement reforms for non-communicable diseases India.
- Deliverables:
- Lead the implementation of research activities in the field (Sonipat, Visakhapatnam and Jodhpur).
- Train the field research staff for collection of data
- Coordinate with the field research staff on a daily basis and resolve issues arising within the team and/or in the field.
- Monitor the progress of data collection activities throughout the project and update the supervisors on overall progress of the project.
- Coordinate with the HR, finance and administrative staff at PHFI as needed.
- Prepare progress reports; assist in data analysis and writing of scientific papers.
- Travel as required.
- Any other task assigned by the Supervisor.
- Qualification:
**Essential**:
- Master’s degree in public health or a related field.
**Desirable**:
- PhD
- Experience:
**Essential**:
- Around 03 years of experience in Public Health Research.
**Desirable**:
- 2 years of experience in leading teams for collection of data under a public health research project.
