Property and Asset Management

As a Horticulture Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the daily operations of horticulture activities at our the client sites. Your role involves managing and maintaining plant life, landscaping features, and green spaces.

**Key responsibilities**:
**Plant Management**: You will be responsible for the cultivation, propagation, and health of plants, including trees, flowers, shrubs, and grass. This includes selecting appropriate plant varieties, ensuring proper planting techniques, implementing pest and weed control measures, and managing irrigation systems.
**Landscape Design and Maintenance**: You will be involved in designing and implementing attractive and functional outdoor spaces, such as gardens, parks, and landscapes. This includes planning the layout, selecting plant species, arranging hardscape features, and overseeing regular maintenance activities like mowing, pruning, and fertilizing.
**Budgeting and Procurement**: You will be responsible for developing and managing the horticulture department's budget, including estimating costs for plant materials, equipment, labor, and ongoing maintenance. Additionally, you will handle procurement processes, ensuring the timely acquisition of necessary supplies and resources.
**Team Management**: You will oversee a team of horticulturists, gardeners, and maintenance staff. This involves hiring and training employees, assigning tasks, providing guidance and feedback, and ensuring a safe working environment.
**Sustainability Initiatives**: As a Horticulture Manager, you may also be responsible for implementing and promoting sustainable horticultural practices. This could involve utilizing organic fertilizers, implementing water conservation strategies, and incorporating native plants to support biodiversity.
**Compliance and Safety**: You will adhere to relevant regulations, permits, and safety guidelines related to horticultural activities. This includes ensuring compliance with environmental laws, hazardous materials handling, and promoting safe work practices.
**Client and Stakeholder Management**: You may interact with clients, tenants, and stakeholders to understand their horticultural needs and provide appropriate solutions. This includes collaborating with other departments, attending meetings, and participating in site visits or inspections.
Overall, your role as a Horticulture Manager requires strong horticultural knowledge, leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to effectively manage projects and teams to create and maintain beautiful and sustainable outdoor spaces.
