**Job Summary**:
As 3D visualizers bring architects' ideas to life, taking plans, architectural illustrations, and other reference materials and using these to produce photo-realistic 3D images or animations of proposed buildings and developments.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:
The main responsibilities of a 3D designer vary depending on the clients they work for, as the needs of different industries can vary significantly. In some cases, working to specific instructions and measurements, such as with architects, is necessary. In other cases, they may have more free reign with the design and construction of 3D models, such as with video game designers.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:
designing and developing 3D concepts for new product lines
reviewing and improving existing 3D designs and products
creating documentation for new and revised 3D concepts
communicating with clients to understand project requirements and create specific designs
liaising with clients and presenting new designs in an easy-to-understand way
collaborating with others during team meetings
creating informative resources to pair with drawings

**Required Skills/Abilities**:
**Technical Skills**:
Analytical skills: This allows 3D designers to understand the client's needs and perspectives so the 3D designer can accurately create designs to meet the client's expectations.
Computer skills: 3D designers greatly benefit from technological competence as it takes a good understanding of the latest graphic design tools and CAD software to create 3D designs well.
Time management skills: Most 3D designers work to tight deadlines to complete 3D designs on time for clients. They often work on multiple projects at once, so scheduling their time efficiently is essential.
Creativity skills: The primary role of a 3D designer is to create new ideas or improve on existing ones, so a creative mind is vital to devise new approaches to a product or concept.
