Emergency Medical Technician

The Paramedic is responsible for providing advanced emergency medical care and transportation for patients in emergency situations. Paramedics deliver life-saving interventions, perform advanced clinical procedures, and stabilize patients before or during transport to medical facilities. The role involves responding to emergency calls, assessing patient conditions, administering medication, operating medical equipment, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Emergency Medical Care**:
- Respond to emergency medical calls, providing urgent care at the scene.
- Assess the medical condition of patients using diagnostic tools, interviews, and medical history.
- Provide advanced life support (ALS) treatments, including advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, and medication administration.
- **Patient Care & Stabilization**:
- Stabilize patients and make decisions on necessary treatment based on medical protocols.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments according to protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor vital signs and make timely adjustments to care to address changes in condition.
- Provide pain management and emotional support to patients and their families during emergencies.
- **Transport**:
- Safely transport patients to healthcare facilities while continuing to provide care and monitoring.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during transportation, adhering to safety regulations.
- Communicate with hospital staff about the patient’s condition, treatment, and status prior to arrival.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate patient care records, including assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
- Complete reports and forms for each call, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Document any unusual circumstances or deviations from standard operating procedures.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other EMS personnel, including EMTs, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, including doctors and nurses, to ensure the continued care of patients upon arrival.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch centers, ensuring appropriate information is conveyed in real time.
- **Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance**:
- Ensure medical equipment is fully functional and ready for use during emergencies.
- Perform routine checks on ambulances and medical devices, reporting any malfunctions or damage immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and restock medical supplies in the ambulance.
- **Patient Advocacy & Support**:
- Advocate for patients’ needs and well-being, providing guidance and support to patients and families.
- Communicate calmly and effectively in stressful situations, ensuring patients and family members are informed and comforted.
- **Training & Development**:
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification and improve clinical skills.
- Stay current with medical protocols, procedures, and regulations.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving patient care and EMS procedures.
Qualifications:
- **Education & Certification**:
- Bsc - AECT.
- Completion of an accredited paramedic training program.
- National or state certification as a Paramedic.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required (based on location).
- **Experience**:
- At least 0-2 years of experience as a paramedic or in a related healthcare field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, emergency care environment is an advantage.
- **Skills & Competencies**:
- Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, medications, and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions, and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Strong physical stamina, as the job may require heavy lifting and long shifts.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Working Conditions:
- This role involves working in various conditions, including potentially hazardous environments, during all times of day and night.
- Physical demands include lifting patients, carrying equipment, and standing.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, medical emergencies, and potential hazards.
Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
