The Baale Mane is a safe & loving home for disadvantaged girls which is located near Hesaraghatta in Bangalore. Our focus is on nurturing brighter futures for the girls to enable them to lead self-sustaining independent adult lives. We are adding to our team with the recruitment of an Independence Programme Coordinator. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping disadvantaged young women.

**Job Title** - Independence Coordinator

**Classification** - Around 40 hours per week (full-time), flexible hours

**Reports to** - Independence Programme Manager

We are looking for a responsible woman who is seeking grass-roots field experience. The Independence Coordinator will be working closely with young women aged 18 to 25 years, mainly living in the city. They will be expected to work with the young women and the team at Baale Mane to bring alive the rights of girls and to resource them to live sustainable, independent lives.

The role would require a driven and reliable individual who will oversee
- coordinating programmes.
- supporting the young women by monitoring attendance and performances at their colleges (or other learning institutes) and their workplaces.
- supporting the emotional and physical well-being of the young women.

Ideally, the applicant will be:

- Passionate about child rights, especially issues such as girls’ & women’s empowerment and education.
- Able to visit the girls’ in their accommodation and colleges, which are based in various locations around Bangalore.
- Able to have regular meetings with girls’ who are under-graduates.
- Able to regularly visit the Baale Mane home in Hesseraghatta (once a week).
- Able to document girls academic progress and programmes.
- Self-sufficient in travelling (either by public transport or own mode of transport).
- Fluent in Kannada and English.

Ideally, the applicant will have:

- The ability to guide and mentor young women.
- Prior experience in programme coordination and facilitation and/or working directly with young people from difficult backgrounds. (“prior experience” is desirable but not essential”)

**Salary**: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
