The Polymath School is Mumbai's first K-12 Project-Based-Learning (PBL) School.

In projects that typically last 3-4 months, we integrate rich content, 21st-century skills and human values in the context of a real-life problem or a challenge. The interdisciplinary nature of projects, along with the real-life context, makes learning come alive for students and educators

**Teachers as Scholars**

The notion of teachers working as scholars is alien to most schools. Very few school managements understand the power of scholarship in improving teaching practices, and therefore it is seldom encouraged.

In our school, the teachers will work as scholars - researching their own practice by reflecting on, documenting and presenting their work, observing the work of others, and comparing best practices. There will be regular teacher-conclaves where teachers from different schools share their successes and struggles. Just as with students, when teachers have to make their work public, they are driven to put in unusual effort and thoughtfulness in their practice.

**Responsibilities**
Children educated through Experiential Education are more caring, more imaginative and more creative. They form deep connections with each other, and with the world around them.
As a Homeroom Teacher for Pre-primary children (3 & 4 year olds), your primary responsibility will be to facilitate their learning, through music, dance, theater, stories, art and exploration. You will be researching, facilitating and implementing the **Inquiry Based Learning **from the
Creative Curriculum. You will also get to work on the revolutionary Wooden Block Building program, which is an integral part of the Nursery & KG1.

Responsibilities include:

- Implementing a progressive pre-primary curriculum (based on the

Inquiry-Based-Learning pedagogy)
- Developing strong one-to-one relations with students and parents
- Maintaining a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment
- Detailed documentation of daily practices.
- Preparation of materials and setting up of play areas
- Helping students take charge of their own learning
- Maintaining observational records of every student progress for report card
- Detailed documentation of daily practices
- Modifying teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students
- Publishing your work
- Conducting parent-teacher meetings and publish monthly newsletters
- Attending in-school and outdoors trainings and team outings (visit to other schools, field trips, overnight camps, etc) for educational and team building purposes
Additional responsibilities include:

- Supervising students out of class, such as in the hallways
- Participating in parent outreach / marketing initiatives
- Admissions counseling

**Prerequisites**
- Prior Experience of at least two years in teaching pre-primary children
- Excellent oral & written English
- Love for learning and passionate about research
- Growth mindset - can reflect critically upon professional experiences in order to enhance professional effectiveness
- Flexible, friendly and good at establishing quick rapport with students
- Ability to work in teams
- Humility
- Bring your own laptop

**Monthly Salary (CTC)**
Rs.20,000 - 25,000
