Duties

The incumbent serves as the Telephone Technician for the U.S. Consulate General and manages all aspects of telephone, radio, and mobile computing equipment and services. Reports directly to the Telecommunications Technician. Ensures 24-hour serviceability and accessibility of the Consulate’s telephone and radio network, overseeing the installation and training of personnel in its utilization. Liaises between the local service providers for the telephone, radio, and mobile services to resolve issues or outages. The incumbent also serves as Mobile and Remote Access (MRA) Administrator for Enterprise Managed Devices (EMD) and loanable Property Clerk for the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS). Updates ILMS loanable property as needed to ensure accountability and effective tracking. Receives and prepares paperwork for requests for loanable handheld radios, issues laptops and mobile devices. The incumbent is also responsible for inventory and record keeping for the Consulate’s telephone, radio, and mobile computing network.

Qualifications and Evaluations

**Requirements**:
**EXPERIENCE**: Must have two years of directly related, progressively responsible experience in electronics or telecommunications. **(Please describe your previous and current job responsibilities in detail.)**

- 1) Secondary School and vocational diploma are required.
- 2) Two years of experience in electronics or telecommunications is required
- 3) English and Hindi language are required. (See language section)

**LANGUAGE**: Good working knowledge (speaking, reading and writing) in English is required. Good working knowledge (speaking) in Hindi is required. This may be tested.

**Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge)**:Examples: Conversations about familiar topics, complex documents.
