**Job Title: Librarian**

**Job Summary**:
As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing library resources to facilitate efficient access to information. Your duties will include cataloging, classifying, and maintaining library materials, assisting patrons with research inquiries, providing guidance on the use of library resources, and developing library programs and services to meet the needs of the community. You will play a vital role in promoting literacy, supporting lifelong learning, and fostering a love of reading among library users.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Collection Development**: Selecting, acquiring, and evaluating library materials such as books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and electronic resources to ensure a diverse and up-to-date collection that meets the needs and interests of library users.
- **Cataloging and Classification**: Organizing and classifying library materials according to established systems (e.g., Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress Classification) and creating descriptive metadata to facilitate retrieval and access.
- **Reference and Information Services**: Assisting patrons with research inquiries, reference questions, and information requests by guiding them in the use of library resources, conducting literature searches, and providing accurate and timely information.
- **Reader Services**: Providing reader's advisory services by recommending books, authors, and resources based on patrons' interests, preferences, and reading levels.
- **Library Programs and Outreach**: Planning, coordinating, and implementing library programs, workshops, and events such as storytimes, book clubs, author talks, and educational seminars to engage the community and promote literacy and lifelong learning.
- **Technology Integration**: Leveraging technology to enhance library services, including managing library automation systems, digital collections, online databases, and electronic resources, as well as providing training and assistance to patrons in utilizing technology for research and learning.
- **Collection Maintenance**: Managing the organization, shelving, and inventory of library materials, including weeding outdated or damaged items, conducting regular audits, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of library spaces.
- **Collaboration and Networking**: Collaborating with other libraries, educational institutions, community organizations, and local stakeholders to enhance library services, expand resources, and promote literacy initiatives within the community.
- **Professional Development**: Engaging in continuous professional development activities, including attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and developments in the field of library and information science.

**Qualifications**:

- Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of library principles, practices, and procedures, including cataloging, classification, reference services, and collection development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patrons and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in library automation systems, integrated library management software, and digital resources.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
