**Kitchen Utility**

A Kitchen Utility is responsible for assisting with general kitchen operations by performing cleaning, organizing, and maintenance tasks to ensure a hygienic and efficient kitchen environment. This position supports kitchen staff by helping with dishwashing, food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas. The Kitchen Utility helps keep the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and workspaces are sanitary and organized.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Dishwashing and Cleaning**:

- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and cooking equipment using dishwashers or manual methods.
- Dry and store clean dishes and kitchenware in their designated areas to ensure easy access and organization.
- Clean and maintain dishwashing stations, including sinks, countertops, and floor areas, ensuring they remain free from grease, food residue, or debris.
- **Kitchen and Dining Area Cleaning**:

- Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors, including prep areas and walk-in coolers, to maintain hygiene and prevent accidents.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including counters, cutting boards, and prep tables.
- Empty trash bins and remove waste from kitchen, storage, and dining areas, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining restrooms, break rooms, or other public areas as required.
- **Equipment Maintenance and Organization**:

- Ensure that kitchen tools, equipment, and utensils are cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen areas for events or daily operations, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good condition.
- Help with maintaining kitchen appliances, checking for functionality, and notifying management or maintenance personnel if repairs are needed.
- **Food Preparation Assistance**:

- Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as washing and peeling vegetables, cutting fruits, or portioning ingredients.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff by organizing ingredients, utensils, and cooking tools before meal preparation.
- Help with setting up food stations or buffets for service as required.
- **Inventory and Stock Management**:

- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries of kitchen supplies, ensuring that items are properly labelled and stored in appropriate areas.
- Help monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, utensils, and kitchenware, alerting the supervisor when stock is low.
- Help rotate stock to ensure food and supplies are used within appropriate timeframes.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Follow proper procedures for food storage, waste disposal, and handling of cleaning chemicals to avoid contamination and accidents.
- Ensure all cleaning materials and supplies are used correctly and stored safely according to manufacturer instructions.
- **Support Kitchen Staff**:

- Provide general assistance to chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff during busy times, such as assisting with simple tasks or maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Respond to kitchen needs, such as replenishing utensils, dishes, or other kitchenware for use by the cooking staff.
- Assist with maintaining a smooth workflow by communicating effectively with kitchen personnel.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or food service environment is helpful but not required.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen cleaning, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Good physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from supervisors.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience in food preparation or dishwashing roles.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, dishwashing machines, and cleaning tools.
- Understanding of proper storage methods for kitchen supplies and food items.

**Work Environment**:

- Kitchen Utilities work in a commercial kitchen, often under fast-paced conditions.
- The role may require standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and performing physically demanding tasks.
- The kitchen may be hot, noisy, and require attention to cleanliness and safety standards.
- Hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the establishment’s schedule.

Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
