Daily Rounding of the premises for ensuring quality of nursing service delivered is equivalent to the set standards/norms.
- Formulating or modifying (need based) nursing procedures and protocols for different nursing care interventions. Diseases, issues/problems so as to ensure smooth functioning of the department.
- Personally inspect all unit areas to ensure that the nursing staff conforms to the set Departmental protocols and policies.
- Establishing accountability for the equipment’s and materials used by the nursing staff.
- Consultation with the in-charge nurses/Supervisor/ANS on specific nursing problems/ issues and helping them in interpretation and implementation of hospital policies.
- Providing feedback to the ND and the top management on all incidents pertaining to patient care & nursing service on a regular basis. Helping the department in corrective actions related to feedbacks.
- Preparing, upgrading & streamlining process guidelines in all the areas of nursing which need improvement.
- Participate in the quality improvement initiatives and activities including projects taken up by the organization/ department.
- Maintaining a positive and forward thinking approach.
- Being a reliable nursing professional and a role model for all other nursing staff members.
- Providing leadership and direction to the nursing staff wherever necessary.
- Aligning staff to the vision, mission and objectives direction of the nursing department.
- Ensuring all duties is carried out to the highest standards and in accordance with the current quality initiatives within the work areas.
- Being responsible for ensuring that every clinical area has appropriate numbers and skill mix of nurses for dependency levels of the patients 24 by 7.
- Supervising the duty rosters and ensuring that the staffs in the department conform to the set standards.
- Leave management in an efficient manner without affecting the work environment of staff morale concerns.
- Being aware of nursing trends, outcomes, analysing the data, and actively participating in all activities of the department such as - promotional, celebrations, conclaves, seminars, educational etc.
- Building teams and supporting them in achieving objectives as desired by the department/institution.
