Infection Control Nurse

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
1. Work within the multi-disciplinary infection control committee, lead and coordinate the work to support the development of long terms infection prevention and controlled strategies and annual infection prevention and control program.
2. ICN should implement the policy and procedure laid down in infection manual in all area of hospital.
3. ICN will monitor and evaluate the impact of the infection prevention and control strategies and working practices.
4. ICN will lead the program of infection prevention in hospital premises as per national and regional guideline and documented. Also update it annually with updating of guidelines.
5. ICN should identify and take appropriate action to control the outbreak infection and documented. 6. ICN should over see the delivery of effective infection prevention and control education program. 7. ICN should monitor service delivery system of organization to implement, Quality, Infection prevention practices using multi disciplinary approach to empower staff and challenge poor practices and behavior which compromises patient care.
6. ICN should coordinate with head of organization committee member and nursing superintendent to lay-down the strategies on infection prevention and control guideline and implement it in organization.
7. ICN should coordinate the committee member and set strategies and operational meetings internally and externally for infection prevention issues.
8. ICN should perform surveillance activity to capture and monitor infection, prevention and control data.
9. ICN should play a role model in nursing care and used advanced expertise to advise all great and discipline of staff on appropriate care for all patient (IPD/OPD) and also act as specialist advisor to all staff clinical and non-clinical on issues related to infection prevention and control.
10. ICN should monitor and document, report the HAI to infection control officer and also take appropriate action to prevent and control HAI in patients also analyze the data on quaternary basis.
11. ICN should investigate outbreak and episodes of cross infection (HAI) with reference to their source mode of spread and means of control.investigate HAI using analytical tool such as root cause analysis (fish bone analysis ) and on
the basis of RCA design CAPA and about it trained the staff exposed to patient
12. ICN should implement the resources provides by organization for prevention and control of infection
13. ICN should coordinate with management and multidisciplinary infection control committee to plan and implement training program in hospital.
14. ICN should plan, organize and coordinate audit and monitoring of wards, hospital environment to ensure the infection prevention and control practices.
15. ICN should implement set polices and procedure of sterilization activities in hospital premises and randomly audit on them.
16. ICN should monitoring process of biomedical waste segregation, handling, transportation and implement the national guidelines in hospital premises and perform randomly audit on them also update it annually as per updating of national guidelines.
17. ICN should implement and document the infection prevent guideline on air, water domestic lonely, paste control activity in hospital to prevent the spread of infection.
18. ICN developed the training program on Infection prevention activity to both for staff and visitor. 21.Infection control nurse act a source able to educate advice inform patients relatives and general public about the infection prevention control related issues.
19. ICN monitor and advise on the equipment cleaning and maintenance protocol to prevent the infection..
20. ICN coordinate with head of organization and all departments, update them about data of infection control on monthly basis and give advice to improve practices for infection prevention.
21. ICN coordinate with ICO and MD of Organization in designing the staff safety protocols and implement them within the premises.
22. ICN should monitor and implement the kitchen sanitation, heath checkups, and disinfectant protocols and scheduled for hospital infection prevention activity.
