**About the client**:PSS** **has been mandated to hire an **Assistant Vice President - Legal**, for a company that focuses primarily on the housing finance needs of the self-employed, belonging to low and middle-income families primarily from semi-urban and rural markets.

**Job Purpose**:
The incumbent would oversee the Legal Function and would be responsible for achieving the milestones in terms of various strategic parameters set by the organization

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To formulate and put in place a robust, uniform legal scrutiny process of all documents related to the housing loan proposals
- Monitoring of MODT registration
- Review and provide legal opinion on all legal documents of the housing loan customers.
- Liaise with relevant departments
- Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management in all contracts entered by the company
- Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate knowledge to sales staff

**Educational Qualifications And Experience**:

- A Law graduate with 15 to 20 years of experience
- Leadership experience including the ability to set direction, manage and motivate people and work collaboratively with other teams.
