**BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST ADVERTISED ARE GIVEN BELOW**:

- **Knowledge of Fabrics**: A basic understanding of different types of fabrics, têxtiles, and materials used in the fashion industry is necessary. This includes knowledge of fabric properties, characteristics, and sourcing.
- **Communication Skills**: Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for liaising with suppliers, vendors, internal teams, and customers. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally is crucial for success in the role.
- **Analytical Skills**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for analyzing sales data, inventory trends, and market research findings to make informed decisions and recommendations.

**Key responsibilities of a merchandiser are given below**:

- **Product Selection**: Choosing the assortment of products to be sold based on market trends, customer preferences, and historical sales data.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory levels while minimizing excess stock.
- **Visual Merchandising**: Designing and arranging product displays and store layouts to attract customers, enhance the shopping experience, and promote sales.
- **Pricing Strategy**: Setting competitive prices for products based on factors such as cost, competition, and perceived value, while also considering promotions and discounts.
- **Promotions and Marketing**: Planning and executing promotional campaigns, seasonal sales, and marketing initiatives to increase brand visibility and drive sales.
- **Market Research**: Conducting ongoing market research to stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities.
- **Analysis and Reporting**: Analyzing sales data, inventory turnover rates, and other key performance indicators to evaluate merchandising strategies' effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
- **Supplier Relationship Management**: Negotiating with suppliers for favorable terms, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
- **Collaboration**: Working closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and product development to align merchandising strategies with overall business objectives.
- **Customer Satisfaction**: Focusing on providing excellent customer service by ensuring product availability, assisting with inquiries, and addressing customer feedback and concerns.
