The Wholesale Banking Compliance - “Team” will support the Head of CMB & GBM Compliance Advisory, and the respective Compliance Advisory Team Leads responsible for GB, CMB & MSS Business lines (collectively, also known as Wholesale Banking).

The Compliance function is a Second line of defence (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the Group’s businesses (also referred to as “the First LOD”) to ensure that they effectively manage as “Risk Owners” the Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance risks inherent in or arising from the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. The Second LOD consists of 'Risk Stewards' who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the First LOD. The Compliance function is a Risk Steward for several non-financial risks in accordance with HSBC Group’s risk framework.

**The role will involve regular interaction with stakeholders in first and second line of defence.**

**The Opportunity**:
**This role can be based out of Hyderabad.**

The following principal accountabilities are aligned to the Compliance Services and Processes Model:

- Provide risk stewardship support to the in-country Wholesale Banking (WSB) team leads to discharge risk stewardship responsibilities under the NFRO program.
- Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with in-country Wholesale Banking (WSB) colleagues and Line of Business (LOB) stakeholders such as the various CCO teams from the Businesses.
- Create a framework for the effective risk-based monitoring of the implementation of Wholesale Banking (WSB) risks related policies and controls

**What you’ll do**

The responsibilities of the CoE team will be to assist the in-country Wholesale Banking (WSB) team leads:

- To maintain an effective control framework, including the NFRO program objectives and obligations on risk stewards.
- Second line governance of Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime risks exposures, providing analysis, reporting and governance
- Assist in reviewing exception reports and MI & assisting to follow up with the respective LOB stakeholders to obtain responses and compile to in-country for review or for in-country to provide necessary challenge. This is to discharge NFRO obligations.
- Assist to review LOB RCAs, control descriptions, residual risk descriptions, trigger events, incident management follow up and perform first level review on the quality of the inputs, & completeness.
- Assist the WSB compliance colleagues in extraction of data/MI from Helios, and other sources to assist in RCA reviews, risk reviews and look across exercises, follow up on exceptions from MI on all material compliance related matters. Perform first level reviews and highlight issues or exceptions for further review/escalation.
- Review business proposals for initial risk assessment and provide solution and mitigants to manage the risk to the business and customers.
- Assessment of various MI submissions made by business to be validated and challenged from a second line of defense point of view.
- Assisting in the various thematic reviews and assistance in various compliance training needs analysis and deck content.
- Assisting and coordinating various country, region and group submissions on MIs, reporting’s, MANCO submissions etc.
- To provide Sanity checks on REN reports.
- Managing RAPID2 and Reg Map processes
- Continuous monitoring oversight initial assessment
- Provide RCA initial refresh assessments, RCA requests from region/ audit/ reviews - reaching out directly with business
- Monitoring Ask Compliance - following up on MI (items to act on for closure, etc) with in-country teams.
- Managing eComms alert - L3 review liaison with Surveillance, business line manager to address queries from region
- Provide Gap analysis coordination with various stakeholders, follow up to track & and preparing the extraction, formatting
- Provide Thematic reviews sampling, review report and coordination with stakeholders, data extraction, follow u and tracking
- Handling Trigger event review based on internal and external events MI
