Introduction

Leadership of Centre of Excellence that provides independent controls testing for various disciplines across risk (Project Arthur), requiring the input and collaboration of a large set of senior stakeholders within Risk and across the Bank.

What will you be doing?
- Building current control testing coverage/plan to cover relevant controls related to Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRR) requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of Controls Testing methodology for LRR across Credit, Market, Operational Treasury & Capital, Model and Climate risks across all the legal entities. Comply with the Risk and Control Assessment (RCSA) process ensuring these provide an effective approach to controls testing within LRR remit.
- Drive the implementation of controls testing plans for LRR across Credit, Market, Operational Treasury & Capital, Model and Climate risks across legal entities to meet regulatory requirements aligned to LRR.
- Ensure agreed KPI’s for LRR controls testing are monitored in line with the available capacity.
- Review of LRR control testing outputs, challenging assumptions, and effectiveness of controls, interlocking with First Line of Defence, Business Verticals as Second Line Controls Testing function under BCF.
- Inculcate and encourage a mind-set of delivering error free outputs (including but not limited to) control test reports, MI’s, action closure templates, incremental testing outputs etc. Ensure accurate tracking of controls tested, issues, actions, and recommendations.
- Advise on the design of the control assurance process to ensure that applicable standards are reviewed.
- Drive the production of the Controls Testing MI’s for various risks types and maintain data quality and integrity across the controls reporting for various governance committees
- Lead & represent the Second Line for Control Testing function across the other Lines of Défense
- Manage oversight of risk and promote a strong control testing culture.
- Provide developmental feedbacks to all direct reports providing regular feedback/coaching to ensure their maximum potential is achieved.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, to achieve the best outcomes and quality of service.

- Able to work independently and as part of a team, including within global and virtual teams.
- Proven experience of Controls Testing in any Risk Discipline and Team Management
- Able to identify critical, high priority activities and adjust priorities for self and others.
- Confident and articulate with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build trust.
- Good control and service delivery mind-set, with a strong understanding of the importance of creating and maintaining a robust governance and control environment.
- Line management experience for managing others.

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Masters Degree or equivalent
- Proven experience in Risk/Audit/Internal Controls
- Knowledge of programming languages e.gs. SQL
