**About Aasraa Trust**
Aasraa Trust was established in 2009 to work with society’s most underprivileged and vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Dehradun. Aasraa is not just a charity but a vehicle for empowerment through education, skills training, nutrition, healthcare and shelter homes. Starting with street level mobilization, Aasraa uses a multi-faced approach that prepares children for mainstream education and transition to higher studies and skills training.
Aasraa is certified by national Institute of Open Schooling and works with the education department of Uttarakhand to improve the quality of education at 9 government school in Dehradun. Aasraa is also implementing a Girl Education Program in four girls Inter Collages in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused and special needs children.
Aasraa started 14 years ago with 35 children and it’s now supports over 9000 children from the streets and slums across 50 project in Dehradun district.
**Job Profile: Academic Coordinator**
**Job Location - Dehradun, Uttarakhand**
**Work Hours - 9:30 to 5:30**
**Job Overview**
**The Academic Coordinator **is responsible for the overall management and administration of the center. This role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of the vocational programs, overseeing curriculum development and implementation, and providing leadership and guidance to the staff. The Academic Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the success of the center, focusing on the holistic development of students and the achievement of vocational skill outcomes.
**Responsibilities**:
**1. Academic Management**:
- Develop and implement the academic calendar and ensure adherence to the scheduled activities and programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and progress of students and trainers in vocational courses.
- Collaborate with the academic team to develop and modify curriculum on a continual basis, aligning it with the requirements and standards.
**2. Vocational Curriculum Implementation**:
- Oversee the effective implementation of vocational curriculum in classrooms, ensuring high-quality instruction and student engagement.
- Provide guidance and support to trainers in delivering vocational courses, ensuring effective learning outcomes.
- Monitor the progress and performance of students in vocational skills development, offering additional support as needed.
**3. Staff Coaching and Mentoring**:
- Provide coaching and mentoring to trainers, fostering professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance the teaching skills of vocational instructors.
Support trainers in implementing innovative teaching methodologies and techniques to maximize student learning.
**4. Holistic Student Development**:
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes the holistic development of students.
- Implement strategies to support student well-being, discipline, and character development.
- Collaborate with counselors and support staff to address the individual needs and challenges of students.
**5. Administrative Management**:
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations of the vocational center, including budgeting, resource allocation, and facility management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student enrollment, attendance, and academic performance.
**6. Personnel management**
- To developing positive working relationships with and amongst team members
- Being proactive in the support of team members in both academic and behavior
- related matters.
- To Supervise performance and progress of team members.
- To Promote professional development of team members.
- Inducting new members.
- Assisting and mentoring pre-service teachers.
**7. Curriculum and pedagogy**.
- Setting appropriate standards and benchmarks in curriculum areas, and analyzing, preparing and presenting data to demonstrate achievements of students in test and tasks, and learnings.
- Demonstrating exemplary teaching practice & recognizing and catering for a diversity of learning styles.
- Planning, implementing and overseeing assessment
- Ensuring student records are maintained
- Asses new student’s abilities, place them in the appropriate class/group
**Required Knowledge & Skills**:
- At least 05 years of experience in Managing educational projects and teams.
- Written and spoken communication; good knowledge of working with Productivity tools, Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of school administrative processes and national educational regulations.
- Degree in Education; Master’s degree is a plus
**Salary**: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
