Director – International Affairs

The Director of International Affairs plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the institution's global strategy. This position involves building and managing relationships with international universities and organizations, fostering partnerships, and facilitating collaborations for academic and non-academic exchanges. The director oversees programs such as student and faculty exchanges, international research collaborations, and global outreach initiatives. Additionally, they ensure compliance with visa regulations for international students, organize orientations and events, and represent the university in global forums. They also monitor the performance of international partnerships and provide strategic insights to enhance the university's global presence and reputation.

- Collaborating with various departments to develop and implement their international strategies.- Establishing and nurturing partnerships with foreign universities and institutions on behalf of the university or center.- Supporting the execution, logistics, and documentation of academic and non-academic partnerships, as well as related communication and coordination efforts.- Leading and managing projects aimed at developing and sustaining international partnerships.- Liaising with partner universities worldwide to identify and expand opportunities for collaborative activities.- Organizing high-profile inbound and outbound visits, hosting distinguished speakers, representing the university at international exhibitions, and attending educational fairs.- Overseeing the administration of the International Affairs Office, ensuring efficient management of international partnerships.- Engaging with embassies and consulates regularly to solicit feedback and maintain relationships on behalf of the university.- Coordinating student and faculty exchange programs, managing the selection process, and providing visa support.- Ensuring compliance with FRRO requirements for international students and assisting them with visa procurement and inquiries.- Facilitating the onboarding of international students, organizing orientation programs and events in collaboration with student affairs and event management teams.- Supervising the operation of the International Student Drop-in Centre.- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of international partnerships.- Analysing the university's performance against global benchmarks and potential partners, and preparing reports and briefings for university leadership.

Requirements/Eligibility:

- A master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university/institution.- At least 10 years of experience in a similar role at a reputable university or higher education institution is preferred.- Candidates from top engineering institutes with global experience, especially handling large student volumes, will be given preference.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a deep understanding of both the Indian and international higher education landscape, are essential.- Candidates should have the drive to lead the International Affairs department, including recruiting their own team and establishing policies.
