**Introduction**
As a Service Delivery Specialist, you are the face of IBM for our customers. Your clients' success depends on your ability to understand their needs and respond to requests for new services. This role is an integral part of both account planning and delivering support strategies, working to proactively monitor problems, change processes, and handle issues to ensure our customers success.

**Your Role and Responsibilities**
As a System Administrator you are responsible to provide technical support with high degree of Customer Happiness by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

**Responsibilities**:

- Managing backups & archiving Logs for various types of recovery techniques
- Checking and verifying the errors in db2diag.Log
- Taking Online /offline backup of Database, Table space to disk
- Experience in using DB2 Maintenance Utilities (Reorgchk/Reorgs/Runstats)
- Table Space Management - Adding, dropping, extending, reducing and resizing table space containers
- Handling table space and file systems space issues, Extending Table space.
- Extensively used db2 data move utilities like export, import and load
- Sql Tuning using db2batch, db2advisor, db2explain
- Granting / revoking various authorizations to different Users/Groups
- Administration of Database Objects such as tables, indexes, stored procedures, functions, views
- Performing redirect restore between different servers.
- Creation and Administration of Instances, Databases, Buffer pools and Tablespace.
- Recover data to a prior point in time using rollforward command.
- Monitoring DB2 Activities using Db2pd, Snapshots & Event monitors.
- Involved in db2 installations and Creation of instances and databases
- Worked with SYSIBMADM views and Monitor Functions
- Managing backups & archiving Logs for various types of recovery techniques
- Monitoring the databases by using snapshots, event monitors
- Handling table space and file systems space issues
- Troubleshooting the issues using db2diag, db2top, db2pd, db2support, db2dart
- Creating and Maintaining Range Partitioned Tables, Multi dimension Tables, Materialized Query Tables.
- Worked on reorg, run stats, flush packages, rebind packages
- Recovered the database during database crash and whenever in required situations
- Administration of Database Objects such as tables, indexes, stored procedures, functions, constraints, views
- Granting/Revoking privileges to or from the users.
- Installing latest fix packs on the servers
- Worked on HA with HADR and TSA setup

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with IBM DB2,
- Demonstrable experience in Support, troubleshooting of above technology
- Ability to articulate best practices during implementation
- Demonstrated experience in handling day-to-day Operation, Alert, Incident support, Migration and break-fix support
- Willingness to work in nights shifts or support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs

**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**
- This role will require you to be hands on technical.
- This role will require you work both as individual contributor or in a team of experienced Application Server Administrators and support 24X7X365 operations, as the requirement may be.
- As this is a client facing role, there will be interaction with the clients.
