**Organizational Context**:
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 192 member National Societies. The overall aim of the IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” The IFRC works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.

IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement), together with its member National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The work of the IFRC is guided by the following fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

IFRC is led by its Secretary General, and has its Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The Headquarters are organized into 3 Divisions: (i) National Society Development and Operations Coordination; (ii) Global Relations, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Digitalization; and (iii) Management Policy, Strategy and Corporate Services.

IFRC has 5 regional offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Europe and the Americas. Together, the Geneva Headquarters and the field structure (regional, cluster and country) comprise the IFRC Secretariat.

The Global Strategic Planning and Reporting Centre is part of the Strategic Planning department, which is part of the Office of the Secretary General, and aims to enhance the IFRC planning process, with a greater focus on membership-wide planning, monitoring and reporting, high-level objectives and contextual analysis. It also supports IFRC leadership to develop and foster new proposals and initiatives to promote the IFRC network.

The Strategic Planning department oversees a new country-level planning process known as Unified Planning, bringing together ongoing emergency operations and longer-term work. Federation-wide country plans are developed at country level in 1 of the 4 IFRC official languages, with format adapted to the needs of the National Society. Internal Federation wide reporting on the country's plans will follow the IFRC standard reporting timeframe, i.e., a mid-year report (January to June) and annual report (January to December). The Global Strategic Planning and Reporting Centre will produce the public versions of the Federation-wide country plans and associated standard narrative reports.

This position is located in New Delhi, India.

**Job Purpose**:
The officer, Reporting is responsible for producing initial drafts of external versions of a set of country plans, revisions, and reports.

The Junior Reporting officer will work under the direct supervision of one or more Senior Reporting officer(s) responsible for a region for a selected IFRC region (i.e., Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and North Africa) to undertake the defined tasks.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Extract and reshape information from internal unified country plans and reports for drafting of external documents
- Ensure coherence of the descriptive content with the templates for external plans and reports
- Capture in writing the National Societies profiles, including their auxiliary and historical roles, strategic priorities, main areas of work, and recent scope and scale of action
- Verify alignment of action described with the IFRC results-matrix
- Ensure consisent, clear and strong descriptions of the National Societies profiles, including by looking into their Strategic Plans, annual reports and websites
- Carry out additional research on the overall context (geographical, political, socio-demographic, economic dimensions) and thematic priorities (climate and environment, disasters and crises, health and well-being, migration and displacement, values power and inclusion)
- Check all sources, insert hyperlinks and update data from trusted secondary sources
- Check primary sources coming from the IFRC network data, assessments, reports and other analyses and use as appropriate to strengthen the external documents, including to describe the National Society coordination with public authorities
- Use information from IFRC past and ongoing Emergency Appeals and DREF to provide concrete information on humanitarian trends and needs, recurring disasters, and National Society actions
