Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have any director reporting employees
**NATURE AND SCOPE**:
The Alabama Farmers Federation and Alfa Mutual Insurance Company employ approximately 2600 employees. These employees are located throughout various states located primarily in the southeast. The Alabama Farmers Federation is a nonprofit organization engaged primarily in promoting the welfare of farmers in the state of Alabama and lobbying the political needs of both farmers and insurance companies with the local, state, and national government agencies and bodies. Alfa Mutual Insurance Company and its related companies are engaged primarily as a direct writer of all types of property and casualty insurance lines as well as life insurance in states located primarily in the southeast. The group’s non-insurance subsidiaries are engaged in investing, commercial leasing and management, real estate development and real estate sales. Some Alfa companies are also regulated by the Federal Reserve Board.
**PRINCIPLE ACCCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Assists in the process of gathering, understanding, and articulating functional, non-functional, and business requirements that are already defined. **(10%)**
- Tracks and monitors production systems for issue identification and prevention across multiple environments and operating platforms. **(15%)**
- Researches and troubleshoots issues across different environments in order to rectify system problems in a timely manner. **(15%)**
- Communicates status updates with team members and leaders to ensure timely completion of deliverables. **(5%)**
- Becomes familiar with Alfa’s interconnected technology framework and systems in order to understand impact of software changes. **(5%)
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education**:Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area of study related to Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering is required.
Or Bachelor’s degree required with 10 years’ experience in software development.
**Experience**:At least 3 years of on-the-job experience coding and developing in Guidewire (see skillset listed below) required OR at least 2 years of on-the job experience coding and developing in Guidewire (see skillset listed below) required and having attained the “GW Certified Professional” certification.
**Guidewire Developers Required Skillset**:
- Java, GOSU, XML, Insurance Vertical Experience, SQL Server, a modern code repository (ie. BitBucket, GitHub, etc.)
**Guidewire Digital Developers Required Skillset**:
Java, GOSU, XML, Insurance Vertical Experience, SQL Server, a modern code repository (ie. BitBucket, GitHub, etc.), GW Digital, Edge, React
**Other Requirements**:
- Proven experience in or knowledge of all SDLC components. Knows when to use different methodologies and how to effectively manage each.
- Competent communication skills (sending and receiving), including clear and timely communication on business issues and assignments with peers, management and product owners.Ability to quickly learn and comprehend insurance-related topics and relate that knowledge to the development process.**WORKING ENVIRONMENT**:
