**Position Overview**: As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in the financial operations of the organization. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making. The Senior Accountant will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, management, and auditors, to maintain the integrity of financial data and contribute to the overall success of the company.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Financial Reporting**: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes. Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

**General Ledger Management**: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.
Review journal entries and ensure proper classification and documentation.
Collaborate with the accounting team to address discrepancies and resolve issues.

**Budgeting and Forecasting**: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and provide variance analysis.
Identify areas of concern and recommend corrective actions.

**Financial Compliance**: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and collaborate with auditors during financial audits.

**Process Improvement**: Streamline and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Identify opportunities for automation and implement new tools or systems as needed.

**Team Leadership and Training**: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Assist in their professional development through training and skill-building.

**Financial Analysis**: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning. Prepare ad-hoc reports for management to aid in decision-making.

**Taxation**: Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
Stay updated on changes in tax regulations that may impact the organization.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA designation is a plus).
- Several years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modeling.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively across departments and present financial information clearly.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
