**Brief Description about the Project**:
The “Harmony” study is a 5-year research study conducted in collaboration between the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI), Bangalore, funded by the US National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The “Harmony” clinical trial study was designed to implement and evaluate a nurse-led behavioral intervention to reduce intimate partner violence (IPV) and alcohol use among low-income couples in Bangalore, using motivational interviewing and behavioral couple’s therapy.

**Core Responsibilities**:
Each nurse will be trained in motivational interviewing techniques and to deliver behavioral couple’s therapy. The nurses will conduct all intervention sessions under the supervision of the intervention coordinator and will be responsible for scheduling and tracking intervention participants. Each nurse will meet regularly with the intervention coordinator and nurse faculty to resolve ongoing challenges. Nurses will be responsible for referring patients reporting medical issues requiring attention to the community physician.

The responsibilities include tasks classified below.
- To undergo training in motivational interviewing and behavioural couples therapy
- To implement the interventions to individual men and couples in Bengaluru Urban Primary Health Centres under the supervision of the intervention coordinator and nurse faculty Co-investigator.
- To meet regularly with the intervention coordinator and nurse faculty co-investigator to resolve ongoing challenges in delivering the intervention.
- To refer any participants with serious psychiatric concerns, including suicidal ideation, to the psychiatrist Co-I for assessment
- To refer patients reporting medical issues requiring attention to the community physician
- To track, make follow up calls & schedule participants.
- To maintain study logs
- Specific tasks assigned based on skills & project needs.

**Key Skills**
- Experience in working in in a health care setting.
- Experience in talking with clients or research participants about sensitive topics
- Experience working in a research project is an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in Kannada and basic English skills.
- Experience working with domestic violence victims is a plus
- Solid time-management abilities with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills & a team player
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to establish rapport and work effectively with individuals of different ethnicities, socio-economic status, caste, gender, and sexual orientation.
- Educational qualifications - B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Nursing.
- Willingness to travel to Primary Health Centres within Bangalore

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
