**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

MILANN

Incharge Nursing has to report to the Nursing Superintendent. And assist her in the administration of nursing services in the hospital.

**NURSING ADMINISTRATION**:
Supervise the nursing care given to the patients in various departments by taking regular round of her area.

Act as a liaison officer between Nursing Superintendent. And the nursing staff of the hospital.
- Interpret the policies and procedures of the Nursing service department to sub-ordinate staff and others. Assist the nursing superintendent. On planning and organizing nursing services in the hospital.
- Attend the emergency calls concerning nursing services or hostel problems.
- Receive evening and night reports from the Supervisors or in charges.
- Keep records and reports of Nursing Services.
- Maintain the records of attendance of nursing staff and leave of any kind.
- Conduct regular physical verification of hospital stocks, i.e. drugs, equipment’s etc.
- Initiate procedure for condemnation and procurement of hospital equipment/linen etc.
- Maintain the report of the staff.
- Help nursing superintendents to do the appraisals

MANPOWER PLANNING Assist the Nursing Superintendent for manpower planning. Ensure adequate staff in each shift as per business volume & requirement. A contingency plan for staffing in high occupancy is in place Leaves should be monitored & absenteeism should be immediately reported..

On call duties & double shifts to be minimized

**TRAINING**
- Ensure all new joiners are undergone induction program.
- Organize the training the departmental training.
- Maintain discipline among nursing personnel.
- Ensure the need based training to the staff & retraining of incompetent staff.
- Policies & protocols to be explained to the new staff.
- Ensure HIS training & BLS for each staff.
- Ensure each new joiner to undergo chemotherapy workshops.
- Ensure six hours of clinical training for each employee in a month.

MILANN
- Provide guidance and counselling to nursing staff. Ensure adequate training to be given when there is a change of responsibility or new equipment’s introduced.
- Organize educational programs for graduate/post graduate students from different hospitals with the co-ordination of clinical instructor/lecturer college of nursing.
- Competency of staff to be completed in 3 months.

**INVENTORY- MANAGEMENT**
- Ensure each wards has a master inventory book.
- Ensure Daily checking of inventory done by junior staff.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines & consumables
- Ensure expenses in nursing areas are within budgeted expenses.
- Set up a tight inventory control.
- Ensure all wards do indents on allocated days
- Track consumption on a monthly basis.
- Track 10 top line items in a day
- Ensure biomedical equipment’s are maintained properly.
- Documented evidence should be kept while transferring of equipment’s to other units.

**QUALITY**
- Ensure comprehensive care given to each patient & evaluate given care.
- Ensure patient safety in all the aspects.
- All documents to be audited.
- Quality indicators to be monitored & bench mark to be maintained.
- All nursing indicators to be monitored strictly.
- Ensure the quality improvement programs.
- Captured indicators to be verified.
- Quality indicators to be submitted by 4 th of every month.
- Patient’s feedbacks & grievances to be addressed.
- Attend the quality meetings & ops meetings.
- Evaluate incident reports & help nursing superintendent to do the Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- If any undue incidents happen in the wards, inform higher authorities.
