Boiler Operator

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Boiler Operation**:
- Operate and maintain high-pressure and low-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, heaters, etc.).
- Monitor meters, gauges, and computerized controls to ensure proper functioning and to maintain optimal operational parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, and water levels).
- Control fuel supply to boilers and ensure efficient fuel consumption.
- **Maintenance & Repair**:
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs of boilers and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose boiler problems, making adjustments and repairs as needed.
- Ensure that all equipment is well-maintained and in compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- **Safety Compliance**:
- Adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations concerning boiler operation and safety standards.
- Report and address any safety concerns or potential hazards.
- **Record Keeping & Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate logs of boiler operations, including pressures, temperatures, water levels, and fuel usage.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and incidents in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- **Emergency Response**:
- Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment malfunctions or power outages, in a timely and safe manner.
- Shut down or adjust equipment as necessary to prevent dangerous situations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments during emergencies.
- **Energy Efficiency & Optimization**:
- Work with the engineering and maintenance teams to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Identify opportunities to optimize boiler performance and recommend improvements.
