**Job Title**: Certified Medical Coder for Pediatrician’s Office

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Medical Coding**:Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for pediatric services and procedures.
Review patient records and physician notes to determine appropriate coding.
Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.

**Claim Scrubbing**:Conduct thorough reviews of coded claims before submission to identify and correct any coding or billing errors.
Work closely with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely claim submission.

**Denial Prevention**:Analyze and address reasons for claim denials and rejections.
Implement strategies to reduce denial rates and streamline the coding and billing process.

**Compliance and Confidentiality**:Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific coding and billing regulations.

**Collaboration and Communication**:Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnostic or procedure information for accurate coding.
Communicate effectively with billing and administrative staff to resolve coding-related issues.

**Continuous Education**:Participate in ongoing education and training to remain current with coding standards and changes in the healthcare industry.

**Qualifications**:

- Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC, CCS, or similar) is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in pediatrics.
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
